The stacked cast of The Prom is looking even better now that Kerry Washington has joined the team.

Ryan Murphy’s latest directorial contribution to the Netflix lineup will be an adaptation of the Broadway musical, The Prom. The musical centers around some Broadway actors, who decide to help a high school student in a small town attend her prom with her girlfriend. The actors are hoping this act of charity will put some sparkle back in their lackluster careers.

Deadline is reporting that Kerry Washington is the latest addition to the cast, which already includes some huge names. Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, and Andrew Rannells will lead the cast as Dee Dee Allen, Angie Dickinson, Barry Glickman and Trent Oliver, respectfully. Excitingly, Awkwafina and Keegan-Michael Key have also been cast in the production.

There’s no word yet on who Kerry Washington will be playing, but since this is a musical, we’re hoping she’ll be busting out with some singing and dancing along with the rest of the talented cast.

Ryan Murphy will direct The Prom, as well as produce alongside Alexis Woodall, Bill Damaschke and Dori Berinstein. The Prom’s screenplay has been written by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, with the latter writing the music and lyrics with Matthew Sklar. The songs will be based on Broadway’s original music, which was composed by Jack Viertel.
