The Originals premiered its second season tonight and there’s a ton of things going down in New Orleans this year.

Elijah, a man with class

Elijah is meeting with real estate agents talking about keeping an old building around, one of the original foundries. The Guerreras want to turn it into a casino, but Elijah is preventing it. Will this really be one of his new base of operations, maybe?

Elijah is mourning the loss of the baby and starts to get rid of all the baby stuff from the house. Hayley shows up and doesn’t like it, but they need to keep the illusion. Hayley, who’s been going off on her own all the time, tells Elijah to get out.

Hayley’s healing

Hayley, not pregnant anymore, can turn into a wolf again since she’s a hybrid, and visits the old cabin where she used to stay. She wants to fight her demons alone, just like Klaus. But that doesn’t last long, as she gets sucked into his master plan to get all of the moonlight rings.

After the fight, Haley kills Francesca. She goes back to her room and starts destroying the baby furniture – she doesn’t feel any better with what she’s done. She doesn’t want to be a hybrid; she hates it. There was nobility in being a wolf, but that night she killed eight of them. Hayley thinks everything has changed, and she realizes that Elijah doesn’t look at her the same way. This ship is sinking, folks.

Clever Cami

Marcel and Cami are still doing the giggity-giggity, but Cami makes it clear it’s a no strings attached relationship. This is one ship we’re unsure of. But at the end of the episode Cami lets Marcel know that their giggity-giggity has to stoppity-stoppity.

After their first giggity, Cami goes to visit Klaus at his house, but he’s playing a game of “I see you, but you can’t see me.” Elijah shows up and wonders why Cami came by, and she explains: She has Gurreras following her, and Marcel might be up for getting rid of the werewolves again if they just ask.

Witchy Business

Davina is doing well, at least! She’s in high school again, and she told her witch coven to “shove it.” She makes eyes with Daniel Sharman’s character, Kaleb, which makes us ship it already. Hey, we’re quick to get sailing, okay?

Oliver comes into the music shop she was in and informs us Davina’s friend Cassie is the one responsible for making the moonlight rings, and that she should get out of town soon because something is going to go down. He also interrupted the amazing eye-loving between her and Kaleb. Oliver was there to kill the vampire owner of the music shop, Joe, but Davina stops it.

And don’t forget, Cassie is actually the Originals’ mother, Esther, and Finn is also back inhabiting the body of someone else as well. Cassie (Esther…which do we pick?) talks up her plans to go against her sons.

Davina goes back to her room, where she’s keeping Mikael under her control like a little Original pet. She’s wearing a bracelet that binds her to him, and she’s not letting Mikael go until she unbinds Klaus from her friends.

After the mess in the episode, Kaleb meets Davina and he has his wonderful, beautiful accent. We’re thankful and we’re shipping this ship even more.

Mischievous Marcel

Josh brings a bunch of strangers over to Marcel, presumably humans, and he starts giving them a speech about being a fighter or being immortal. Clearly these are his new recruits, but Marcel is doing something tricky: He’s telling them about his offer but compels them to forget. Only the ones who really want to be there will remember and make their way back. After the fight in the episode, one of them does. We knew this would happen.

Klaus arrives later, and lo and behold asks Marcel for his help! Marcel explains the situation and wonders why Klaus hasn’t attacked yet. It’s because the Gurreras might have the White Oak Stake. They start making a deal to work together and get it back. But then Klaus realizes the Guerreras don’t have the stake, so now they can hunt down the wolves.

The Master Plan

Joe tells the Guerreras about the White Oak Stake, pulling them all into a trap. They start going after Joe, then Cami, and it’s all going to lead them to a trap set by Klaus and Marcel.

Francesca is falling for it, and sets out her werewolves to get the vampires while she stays in the house because she’s a scaredy-cat.

Some of the werewolves end up in the old foundry (we knew it was going to be important!) and Marcel douses them all in wolfsbane with the sprinkler system. Some of the werewolves end up at the house and Hayley gets them, and Elijah goes out to get the rest that go back to the headquarters. One by one they start getting all the rings, and in the end they get destroyed.

And then Klaus starts painting with the blood of his enemies, literally. You know, for poetic reasons. Elijah shows up at the Gurrera headquarters house, and find out there’s no one who owns the house. Since it’s publicly owned, he steps right on in to beat the buttocks of the scaredy-cat. He ends up letting her drive away, but Haley kills her.

ALL the Originals

Cami meets with Vincent (aka Finn), and he’s already working on tricking her. Then Kaleb walks in, and it’s revealed he’s really KOL! YES. KOl. So basically a hottie, inside a hottie. He, Finn, and Esther start making a plan for a family reunion.
