Keahu Kahuanui is at least the fourth former Teen Wolf cast member to appear in a CW show, and we couldn’t be happier to see him make the jump to The Originals.
The Originals welcomed Daniel Sharman with open arms in season 2 after he wrapped up his arc on Teen Wolf as Isaac Lahey, and we are happy to learn that yet another Teen Wolf alum has now found a place on our favorite vampire show.
Keahu Kahuanui, better known to Teen Wolf fans as Danny Mahealani, the adorable human classmate that admired Tyler Hoechlin’s Derek Hale in a very memorable first season scene (you know the one), will appear in The Originals season 3 in what is bound to be a very popular role.
According to TVLine, He will be recurring as Eddie, a supernatural-world aware human described as being, “sweet, funny, sexy and charming, with an encyclopedic knowledge of random facts.”
The best part of all of this? He will be Josh’s new boyfriend! That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, everyone’s favorite non-Mikaelson vampire will have a new love interest. Knowing that season 4 will take place 5 years later thanks to SDCC, he will have had plenty of time to move on after losing his former love, Aiden, who was killed at the end of season 2 and whose loss has continued to affect Josh well into season 3.
For Josh’s sake, can we all just wish Eddie a long life? We haven’t even met him yet, but long live Jeddie. Josh deserves a little happiness.
It sounds like this human character will want to stay that way, with Eddie seemingly picking up where Cami’s character left off before being turned against her will in the mid-season finale last December. Only time will tell if he will be able to stay human, or if his humanity will be used against Josh, as has been the case time and time again when the Mikaelsons get involved.
This also has us wondering if we can expect to see a few other Teen Wolf cast members make the leap to the CW when the werewolf drama ends its run after 6 fabulously hairy seasons. Holland Roden, Cody Christian, and Melissa Ponzio are definitely at the top of our future casting wish list.
