Klaus is in trouble, but this time we might actually have something to fear. It’s been a while since The Originals had a legitimate threat hanging over their heads.

Klaus Mikaelson has been many things over the centuries: Murderer, overlord, torturer, but kidnapped? That’s a new one. Now that Lucien is out and about and totally capable of killing any of our favorite Mikaelsons with nothing but a nip of his teeth, we actually have something to fear. We might not know exactly who is behind Klaus’ nabbing, but we’re certainly hoping that Lucien is not involved.

We don’t have to fear for the lives of all of Klaus’ sired however, since they were freed a few episodes ago. The stakes are higher than ever for him. There’s nothing to keep others from taking him out if they want to. The motive, the means, and the opportunity are there, and if they want him dead, there’s nothing stopping them.

Not to say that we think Klaus’ days are numbered. He’s the crux of the show and if he can escape a couple of attempts on his life his enemies may just lose interest. Okay, we may be in a little bit of denial there, but here’s hoping.

While Klaus is in chains, the rest of his family will be trying to find a way to get him out of them. Elijah and Freya team up, as well as Hayley and Cami, while Davina is desperate to help Kol. Hopefully Marcel and Vincent will have a way to help her without involving the ever-meddling ancestors. Odds are Vincent has had enough of their witchy interference. Maybe there’s a magical object in Cami’s collection that could be of help? Couldn’t hurt to give the contents a perusal or two.

Who do you think will successfully free Klaus from his captors on ‘The Originals’?
