The final minutes of last week’s episode showed Davina completing her second complicated spell of the night and reviving Kol Mikaelson. What does his return mean for The Originals?

In addition to complicating the prophecy (which we’ll get back to in a minute), Kol’s presence is bound to shake up a few things in New Orleans. He’s a bit of a wild card, and with Davina reviving him and severing Klaus’ sire line all in one night, his loyalties are bound to be torn.

The trailer for The Originals season 3, episode 15 shows that Klaus is all too surprised to see his brother back amongst the living, but what we are most interested to learn is whether or not Davina’s sins and good deeds will cancel each other out in Klaus’ eyes. Kol’s presence will definitely complicate Klaus’ decision-making, that’s for sure.

Severing Klaus’ sire line put him in immediate danger of retribution. Anyone who once wanted to kill him, but was halted for fear of ending the lives of all of his sire-lings, no longer has that to fear, and the burning that we saw Marcel, Stefan, and Lucien experience was surely felt by each and every vampire that has been attached to Klaus’ line. We fully expect an influx of angry vampires hopeful to get their hands on some White Oak and dispatch Klaus Mikaelson from this life.

Speaking of angry vampires, we know that one face from Klaus’ past will show up in this episode. Cortez, played by Matt Cedeno, will be on a mission for revenge, and will manipulate a few allies to get them on his side.

And about that prophecy…

What does it mean that there are now four Mikaelsons involved? One by family, one by friend, and one by foe insinuates that only three are at risk. Does Kol now throw a monkey wrench into the plan? Could he take someone’s place in fulfilling the prophecy? We hope to get some answers on The Originals season 3, episode 15, “An Old Friend Calls.”

What are you looking forward to seeing most on ‘The Originals’ season 3, episode 15?
