The Originals season 2, episode 7 aired this week and we’re loving where this season is going!

Nightmare dressed like a daydream

Elijah is dreaming, and it’s about his brothers when they were kids. He’s fighting with them, wanting to kill them, and Klaus is by his bedside as he dreams trying to talk him out of it. However, Esther put a spell on him to keep him from waking up, he’ll only wake up when he’s ready.

Hayley noticed there’s a scar on his neck, from a plant that their mother used to use to force Elijah and the kids to sleep. Luckily the plant grows in the woods near by, so Klaus decides to scout for it to help wake Elijah. When he leaves, Hayley says she’s going to go after the things Esther loves to really go after her.

On his hunt Klaus is being followed by his real father, Ansel. Klaus confronts him and tells him to piss off, but Ansel knows he’s looking for the orchid that put Elijah to sleep and he knows where it is. He decides to walk with him, and Ansel wants to talk about their history whereas Klaus does not. Ansel tells him he’s been watching Klaus his whole life, and Klaus doesn’t take it well.

Finally they find the tree and Klaus is still doubtful of Ansel, so Ansel tells him to search his mind and to stop being so mistrustful. Ansel says that power lies in accepting his true nature, and that as a wolf he can be king to a whole species. He then reveals he also knows that Klaus’ kid is still alive.

In the end Klaus actually ends up killing Ansel, or so we are to believe. But not before getting the flower he needs, of course. He gets to Elijah to wake him up, and he manages to do so. When he awakes, Klaus tells him about his real dad and how he killed him and left him for Esther to find.

Even though he’s awake now, Elijah is definitely having problems accepting who he is.

Fake Out

In a therapy session with Finn, Cami asks for a new advisor. She says it’s because she really wants to get to know him more than just a patient, and he asks her out for a jazz date.

Hayley and Aiden have a plan to get to Mikael, so Marcel wants Davina to help them. Cami then shows up to help them, and during their meeting, they devise a plan trap Finn. Cami tells them where they’re going to meet and she provides them with magic shackles that will stop the witch who’s wearing them from being able to do magic.

At the jazz place, Cami gets fake attacked by someone which gets Finn to come running to her aid. When he looks away, Cami is gone and “kidnapped,” so he calls Aiden to tell him a wolf attacked Cami and he will meet Aiden in the church, where Aiden and Cami plan to take him on.

The plan goes almost according to plan, but this time it was Jackson that brought Finn down and Cami that managed to handcuff him.

Just Call It Alchemy

Esther calls Finn home and tells him it’s time to bring Cami in since Elijah should wake up believing the right thing to do is join the family. She gives him something to subdue her, but Finn thinks he can bring her in without it.

Kol shows up, and he pretends he doesn’t know Mikael is back but Esther knows he knew. She needs him to bring the white oak stake, and he says he has it handled. Davina is held up with Kol in a hotel, and Kol doesn’t want to share his secrets to unlink the spell unless they trust each other. Suddenly his arm gets burned as a sign that Esther is calling him home.

They go for a ride to town and Kol explains he used to be a witch before he was a vampire, and he used to be really good, especially in this one form of magic that should really just be called alchemy but is called something ridiculous. After Kol meets with Esther he says he needs Davina’s blood to open a tomb that he used to be able to go in all the time to practice magic in.

A hundred years ago he pissed off one of the witches in the coven and she locked him out, and since she was a Claire witch (Davina’s relative) only Davina’s blood acan undo the spell that locked him out.

She lets him have it and they get into the tomb filled with old items and dark objects. He find one specific object: a dagger that he and Davina can spell that will work on Klaus but won’t kill him.

Caleb explains that it’s impossible to replicate the spell that made the white oak stake/dagger but they can destroy it to create another dark object. They train a little bit, and Davina is excited to learn how to do it. She falls asleep and Kol takes her home, but then Marcel shows up. When she wakes up the stake is gone.

The Cliffhanger Material

Esther finds Cami at the bar, and starts doing a spell on her. Is she going to die? We’ll have to wait until next week to find out!

Hayley and Marcel left a gift for Elijah in the ballroom: Finn and Kol, chained to the staircase.
