Check out a clip from tomorrow’s mid-season finale for The Originals, featuring Klaus the matchmaker giving hope to two allies that may still have a spark between them.
This clip from The Originals season 1, episode 9 “Reigning Pain in New Orleans” shows Klaus up to his old tricks, especially dishonesty and compulsion. Marcel finally finds out what has been going on with Cami since the Original siblings came to town, and Klaus surprises them with a truth that proves their chemistry may not be artificial.

As Klaus takes full advantage of his latest compulsion victim’s stenographic skills, we can’t help but wonder just how wonderful it would be to read Klaus’ memoirs. Thousands of years of personal wheeling, dealing, and intimidating would make for an intriguing novel, and one that we would surely want to check out.
The most important and interesting element of this clip is the Marcel/Cami relationship. Now that Klaus has regained control of the New Orleans empire, how beneficial are Rebekah’s current ties to Marcel, especially given that she is basically a loose cannon? We can’t wait to find out all these things and more, starting this week and continuing when the show returns from hiatus in January.
