After a long two weeks without a new episode of The Originals season 1, the time is finally drawing near to find out how Elijah will weather the storm after Klaus’ not-so-lethal bite, and exactly who’s side Rebekah is on…

In the two sneak peek clips for The Originals season 1, episode 8 “The River in Reverse,” Klaus is hard at work with two of his female counterparts, Rebekah and Cami.

Sneak Peek #1:

In this first clip from The Originals season 1, episode 8 “The River in Reverse,” Cami takes dictation as Klaus retells the tale of Elijah’s accusations about his intentions with the baby. Klaus seems surprised and supremely irritated that his brother believes that the only reason he wants to keep the baby alive is for his own selfish means. If Klaus really does want to keep the baby happy and healthy for its own sake, that is truly revolutionary for the Original hybrid.

Who doesn’t love Cami’s reaction to the typewriter? It certainly would speed things up if Klaus embraced a little more modern technology.

Sneak Peek #2:

In the second clip from The Originals season 1, episode 8 “The River in Reverse,” Klaus has a breakfast meeting with Rebekah in which they chat about what he did to Elijah. Rebekah makes sure to give Klaus a piece of her mind about how he treated his brother, but is careful not to stray into this-could-get-me-a-dagger-in-the-back territory.

As much as we love a good Original family argument, Klaus’ not so subtle reminder that Rebekah could find herself in a box if she displeases him does nothing but make our blood boil. We’ve already seen Elijah spend some time daggered in a coffin this season, and we better not be seeing Rebekah there anytime soon.

We can’t wait to see Elijah recover from the hybrid bite, especially to see how he and Hayley bond over the experience, as werewolf/hybrid bites in the past (on The Vampire Diaries) have provided some excellent opportunities for character bonding. What could bring two people closer than helping one endure the agony of the bite and all those vivid memories?
