Tonight’s episode has all of our favorite characters partying it up in New Orleans style, and as we saw last week, everyone has their own agenda. Last week’s episode left us with Elijah daggered and in the possession of Davina and Marcel.
Rebekah is doing everything in her power to recover Elijah and undagger him, and since Hayley discovered Klaus’ secret stash of family daggers, Rebekah and Elijah may finally get a break from Klaus’ favorite brand of punishment.
The witches are still plotting away, trying to escape from the stranglehold that Marcel has had them in for a while now, and Klaus has a man on the inside of Marcel’s crew, which may give him a leg up in this crazy power struggle.
The synopsis for ‘The Originals’ season 1, episode 3, ‘Tangled Up in Blue’ is:
BETRAYAL AT THE MASQUERADE BALL — After discovering interesting news about someone in Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) inner circle, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) come together to attempt to unravel Marcel’s empire from within in spite of Elijah’s (Daniel Gillies) concerns. They enlist help from Sophie (Daniella Pineda), who is reluctant to get involved for fear of the wrath of Marcel’s secret weapon, Davina (Danielle Campbell). Rebekah sneakily invites an oblivious Cami (Leah Pipes) to a huge vampire party thrown by Marcel, managing to anger Marcel in the process. Elsewhere, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) learns from the witch Sabine (guest star Shannon Kane) that the supernatural creatures of New Orleans are reacting to the potential existence of a hybrid baby. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (#103).
