The Originals season 1, episode 15, “Le Grand Guignol,” aired this week and it brought us to a very, very interesting showdown. Check out our recap and let us know what you thought of the episode!

Being Progressive
-Episode begins in 1919, where Klaus is partying with his brother and their werewolf friend. Werewolves, vampires and witches were all friends then.
-In present day, Klaus is ill in bed from the dagger he got stabbed with.
-Elijah called Cami to help Klaus because he thinks she’s the only person he’ll listen to.
-Elijah takes the dagger out of Klaus and asks Cami to keep an eye on Klaus and have him feed on her since her blood is laced with vervain and it’ll keep him weak until he listens.
-Meanwhile, Haley kidnapped Sabine and brought her to her family’s cabin. She wants Sabine to undo the curse on her family that she performed in the ’90s.
-Cami asks why Klaus hates her sister, and it’s because she ripped his heart out by bringing Michael.
-In 1919, Klaus is well aware that Rebekah and Marcel are dating. He does a toast to them.
-Klaus tells Rebekah she just wanted her to be happy, that’s why he killed her loves.
-Cami thinks Klaus is consumed by revenge he’ll never achieve; Marcel and Rebekah can be anywhere.
-Rebekah and Marcel are hiding in their car, and they think Klaus will chase them forever. They need a cloaking spell, and want to bring back Davina.
-They have to kill the three witches that brought Klaus down, and Klaus realizes this.

Haley: Love or Leave her?
-Elijah goes to visit Monique Deveraux and thinks that Sabine will disappear. He says there’s a way for Monique to be safe no matter what Sabine’s objectives are.
-Rebekah and Marcel go to Thierry for their help, and he is not enthused.
-Michael, their father, comes to talk to Marcel after watching him with Rebekah earlier. He can tell that Marcel wants Klaus gone, but he has no idea who he called.
-Michael promises not to hurt Rebekah, and that he can have the city but he wants to know where Klaus is.
-Sabine gives Haley a potion to help break the spell that was put on her family.
-Elijah comes and thinks that she shouldn’t trust Sabine, so he runs away and takes the potion and Sabine with him.

Traitor Trickery
-Elijah wants to know why Sabine wants to help, and it’s because Sabine knows it’s the worst thing for Elijah no matter what. If he kills her and takes the jar, she’ll be angry at him forever. Give her what she wants and have her happy with her family, and lose her. Uh-oh!
-Thierry goes to the three witches and tells them that Marcel and Rebekah are back, and instead of going back on Rebekah and Marcel, he actually led them there!
-Marcel takes off Genevieve’s head, but the other witch gets away, and now they have to go find her. Rebekah thinks their element of surprise is over.
-Back in 1919, Michael meets with Elijah and they get into a fight. Michael tries to convince him that Klaus is an abomination. He has a stake that he forged which would take away their immortality, but decided to kill Elijah normally (so basically he’s not dead-dead, just fake-dead).
-Klaus reveals that he has the white oak stake that cannot be destroyed, and he goes after Rebekah and Marcel. NOOO!

A Song of Vampires and Fire
-Klaus goes out to kill Rebekah, and Cami goes after him to convince him not to. She thinks that by hunting them down and terrorizing them like he was terrorized, he’s going to be his father. Klaus decides to show her something.
-Elijah comes back to Haley with Sabine. He gives her the potion and says it will work.
-He almost kisses her, but decides to go for the forhead instead! Booo!
-Elijah wants to know what Sabine’s endgame is, and she says the game never ends. She tells him about how Rebekah and Marcel are back, and that Klaus is after them.
-Back in 1919, Michael finds Klaus at the Opera house and Klaus tells him he’s not afraid of his father and he was glad he hated him. Michael plans on killing everyone who ever remembered Klaus as well, and he will be remembered by no one.
-Michael murdered his friends and tied Marcel to a stake on stage and compelled the audience to think it was a comedy.
-Michael attacked Marcel, and while the audience was in the theater, Michael burned it all to the ground. That’s when they thought Marcel died.
-That’s why he says he’s not like his father. He’s not going to torture them for years. He’s going to simply kill them.

Sabine Goes Bye Bye
-Elijah took Sabine to the cemetery, but the jokes on him because there’s a boundary spell in it. Originals can enter, but they can’t leave. Now Rebekah and Elijah are trapped there.
-Sabine decides to try to find another body to go and play in, so she kills herself. So Monique performed a spell that would put Sabine back in her original body, using her bones.
-Because she ended up back in the cemetery, Klaus killed her with the knife she enchanted. Sabine is dead-dead! Not fake dead! …or so we think.
-Now that Sabine is dead, Davina came back to life!
-Klaus goes to the cemetery to find Rebekah and kill her, which is juxtaposed against Michael going down the streets to find the Originals.
-Klaus and Elijah come to a standoff, and the episode ends there. Boo, cliffhangers!
