The set of promotional episode stills for The Originals pilot episode have been released, showing new flashback scenes and more.
The Vampire Diaries spinoff series The Originals premieres next month on The CW, and the following set of episode stills have been released via SpoilerTV:

These images reveal that there will be a previously unseen flashback episode, which probably serves to explain the backstory of the Original vampires to new viewers.
We also see glimpses of what will presumably be Elijah (Daniel Gillies)’ side of the story we were shown in the backdoor pilot, which aired as an episode of The Vampire Diaries season 4 earlier this year.
Some fans are speculating that Elijah’s desire to help Klaus (Joseph Morgan) come to terms with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin)’s pregnancy actually stems from his own growing feelings for Hayley.
Some of these pictures certainly seem to indicate that Hayley and Elijah will be spending a significant amount of time together in the first episode of The Originals.
The new series premieres straight after the first episode of The Vampire Diaries season 4 on Thursday, October 3, airing at 9/8c on The CW.
Following this, The Originals will air Tuesday nights at 8/7c, while The Vampire Diaries will remain in its Thursday timeslot.
