Only three days until The Originals season 1 begins, but to tide you over, we have another clip from the premiere. This time, we get to see Elijah and Marcel sitting down to talk a little business.
In this clip from The Originals season 1, episode 1, Elijah and Marcel sit down and have a civil discussion about the future of the French Quarter. Elijah seems most interested in how Marcel controls the witches, but Marcel doesn’t want to share his secrets.
Elijah shows just how powerful his position is as he makes his move to get Marcel to play nice. He wants Marcel to return Jane Anne’s body to the witches so they can lay her to rest, which we saw Marcel keep at the end of the first clip released last week. Klaus certainly knows how to play his hand, as the werewolf/hybrid bite only has one known cure, which he has sole control over. Must be nice to always have that as the ultimate bargaining chip.
Do you think Marcel cares enough about his bitten friend to trade Jane Anne’s body? We think there is definitely a possibility. When the Original family comes to town, you are gonna need all the vampires you can get, so Marcel isn’t gonna want to lose any men unnecessarily. He has to be especially careful as the witches of the French Quarter are also on the warpath.
We’ve also got a vine from The Originals star Daniella Pineda, telling us, “Watch me take down Marcel” and is a little on the weird side, but it gets the point across. The witches are done being manipulated in New Orleans and are ready to fight back. Let’s hope Marcel is up to the task.
We’re just glad we’re not in Marcel’s shoes. The witches mean business and Elijah is a tough negotiator. He is very skilled at getting what he needs out of people, especially since he has been making Klaus’ excuses for, well, centuries.
The Originals premieres this Thursday, October 3, at 9pm on the CW after The Vampire Diaries.
