The Originals cast brought all kinds of delicious information about season 3 with them when we spoke to them at San Diego Comic-Con.

There’s never a dull moment when Michael Narducci sits down to tell you about the upcoming season of The Originals. He talked about how they want to delve into the history of vampirism this season, and how Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah’s sire lines are full of vampires that each have unique perspectives on which Mikaelsons they want alive or dead. “If I had to think of how to sum up season 3, I would say it’s ‘The War of the Sire Lines.'” Gone are the days of Mikaelsons hunting Mikaelsons. Now, it’s all about the vampires they’ve turned turning on them.

Phoebe then joined us to talk all about how life as a wolf will be for Hayley. She said, “Hayley is going a little bit primal, like a little feral. She is literally an animal now.” It’s no surprise that Hayley’s instincts are going to be kicking into hyperdrive now that she’s stuck in wolf form, but Phoebe also added, “These are human characters. They turn werewolf. This is as foreign to them as it would be to us.”

When Leah Pipes wandered over, she was ready and excited to talk about where Cami will be when season 3 begins. We will definitely be seeing more backstory to the McConnell family and the darkness that has claimed both her brother and her uncle already. When we asked about Cami and Klaus’ lingering tension, she was quick to let us know that Cami won’t be as chummy with the Mikaelson family at the start of season 3. Leah admitted, “I know Cami is setting boundaries with Klaus. Season 2 those boundaries sort of fell apart…I think that in season 3 she’s realized I need to set boundaries from Klaus and the Mikaelson family and find myself within those boundaries, and so, she’s doing her own thing.”

The third in our trio of kickass Originals ladies, Danielle Campbell told us all about how Davina will be forging her own path to figure out her role as Regent, and what exactly that power means for her. We also asked if there are some new witches on the horizon, and Danielle was quick to confirm that there are definitely some new witches, but that there will be a bunch of new characters looking to her for answers.

Joseph Morgan sauntered over and seduced all of our hearts when he talked about Klaus’ priorities for season 3. Hope is definitely numero uno. He wants to keep her safe, first and foremost. He also had this to say about the intra-family tension between him and Elijah after letting Gia burn last season, “Klaus wants to mend the fence, but they have hit a wall there. Fractured would be a nice way to describe the relationship. I don’t know what he’ll be able to do to repair the relationship.”

Julie let us know that there is definitely some potential for crossovers, and she also dished about some new characters including a detective who will be interacting with Cami. She will be looking to find a way to get justice for the humans, and this detective will be helpful to her in that pursuit. Julie said it best when she summed up Cami’s new focus; “How do you find justice in a world where you can’t serve justice?”

The Originals season 3 begins this fall on October 8, 2015. We will keep you updated on any developments that come before then.
