Getting excited about this crossover got us thinking: What would happen if the Mikaelsons and friends on The Originals had to do battle with The Vampire Diaries newest villainess, the Huntress?
This crossover has us all anxious to see how the stories of both shows will be addressed, while giving us some team ups that we’ve been desperately missing since the Original family moved out of Mystic Falls for good at the end of The Vampire Diaries season 4. It’s been far too long since we’ve had a good match of wits between Klaus and Damon, and Stefan has most definitely missed his well dressed buddy, Elijah.
Thinking about all these reunions had us intrigued about what would happen if the shows switched villains this season. Hypable’s resident TVD fan, Kendra, wrote all about how the Mystic Falls crew would react to the Strix showing up in town, but how would The Originals react to having an accomplished vampire hunter in their midst?
In all her years, it doesn’t seem that Reyna has had the pleasure of meeting the Mikaelsons (or maybe we’ll learn about their interactions this week), so how would their supernatural abilities match up?
Unless she could get her hands on some White Oak, much like Aurora, Reyna would be hard-pressed to do more than piss off the Mikaelsons. However, if she was able to procure some of the rarest wood on the planet, she would be a force to be reckoned with. With her skills as a vampire hunter and supernatural determination to rid the world of vampires, she would be a formidable rival.
As the Mikaelsons brood grows, more and more of the vampires and hybrids in their inner circle are vulnerable to more than just White Oak. Hayley, Hope, Marcel, and Cami are all precious to the Mikaelsons, and if any of them were in Reyna’s sights, the whole family would be at risk.
If this Huntress isn’t killed on The Vampire Diaries, we wouldn’t be upset to see her in New Orleans. It’s hard to find adversaries that can pose a fierce enough challenge to the Mikaelsons, and we’d hate/love to see what any of the Original family would see if they ever found themselves trapped in the world of the Phoenix stone. Think about Klaus’ horrific past. And Elijah’s. There are some truly terrifying secrets in their pasts that would undoubtedly haunt them far worse than what we’ve seen from the Salvatore brothers.
Whether we see Reyna show up on The Originals or not during this crossover, we are just excited to see the worlds collide. It’s been far too long since we’ve had some good Salvatore/Mikaelson squabbling, and the witty banter is never better than when the two sets of brothers are going at it. And that’s assuming that Rebekah stays daggered in her box.
