Another well-known star has joined Fifty Shades of Grey: Actress Marcia Gay Harden.

She’ll play Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, who is the adoptive mother of Christian and has a career as a pediatrician. She treated her son after his birth mother committed suicide.

In the books by E.L. James, Dr. Grey makes her first appearance when she nearly walks in on Christian and Ana having sex.

Harden most recently starred in The Newsroom season 2 as AWM attorney Rebecca Halliday. She’s also had a long-running role on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU as FBI Agent Dana Lewis and on ABC’s Trophy Wife as Diane Buckley.

Fifty Shades of Grey began shooting over the weekend in Vancouver, Canada and casting announcements have been steadily trickling in as the production is finalized. Just yesterday we learned that Rita Ora has been cast as Christian’s sister.

Other actors set to star in the movie include Max Martini as Christian’s bodyguard Jason, Eloise Mumford as Ana’s roommate Kate, Victor Rasuk as Jose, Luke Grimes as Christian’s brother, and Jennifer Ehle as Ana’s mom.

Most importantly, Christian is played by Jamie Dornan, and Ana is portrayed by Dakota Johnson.

The movie will hit theaters February 2015 just in time for Valentine’s Day.
