We have been patiently waiting for the titles for the remaining episodes of The Newsroom season 2, and we finally have our answer, in addition to synopses as well.

We finally have episode titles for the rest of The Newsroom season 2, and while some are quite general, others have us scratching our chins and wondering what they might mean, especially after learning that last week’s episode title “Willie Pete” is the code word for white phosphorus, and is of vital importance to the Genoa tip storyline.

‘The Newsroom’ Season 2 Episode Titles:

Episode 4: Unintended Consequences
Episode 5: News Night with Will McAvoy
Episode 6: One Step Too Many
Episode 7: Red Team III
Episode 8: Election Night, Part I
Episode 9: Election Night, Part II

While episodes 5, 8, and 9 are pretty self-explanatory, 6 and 7 are the definite head-scratchers in the bunch. “One Step Too Many” could refer to so many things, and while our first inclination is to go with something related to the Genoa storyline, it could also refer to Neal going too far to cover Occupy Wall Street, Sloan going too far on air, or a myriad of other things as well, so that one will probably remain a mystery until the episode airs.

“Red Team III” definitely is in reference to some sort of military action or emergency situation. After a little internet research, we discovered that red teams are typically used to test security.

They began as military forces that were used as adversaries to test friendly forces teams, also known as blue teams, but have evolved into a way to test out both physical and digital security measures as well as procedures and protocols for unexpected and emergent situations. This new info definitely does not bode well for the News Night team, but we’ll continue to hold strong and believe that our favorite news crew can pass the test.

‘The Newsroom’ Season 2 Episode Synopses:

We also found synopses for episodes 4 and 5:

Episode 4: Unintended Consequences

Maggie tries to convince Rebecca she’s fine following her shattering trip to Africa with Gary. An Occupy Wall Street protester with a Black Op lead refuses to cooperate with Neal and Jerry after an on-air interview with Will goes poorly. Jim lands Hallie a one-on-one but gets heat from Mac as a result.

Episode 5: News Night with Will McAvoy

An uncomplimentary Twitter post and a phone call distract Will during his telecast; Charlie meets with a friend who knows about Operation Genoa; Sloan’s humiliation over a revenge posting turns into rage; the newsroom must separate fact from fiction.

Whew! That’s a boatload of new information all about this season of The Newsroom, and we are so excited to finally learn more. Hopefully we will get more episode synopses in the near future, but for now we will continue to stress out over what we already know.

Based on the new titles: What episode of ‘The Newsroom’ season 2 are you most looking forward to?
