Tonight we finally get more information on what exactly goes wrong with the Genoa story as we see the events surrounding the broadcast that spurned a wrongful termination lawsuit.
The official description of tonight’s episode is all about Operation Genoa and what exactly goes wrong for the News Night staff:
“Through depositions with the newsroom staff, Rebecca pieces together the events that led to ACN’s fateful decision to go forward with Jerry’s special report on Operation Genoa – as well as the post-air revelations that undermined its credibility. The repercussions threaten to ruin “News Night” while eclipsing breaking news during another 9/11 anniversary.”
The promo tells much of the same story. We are all looking forward to seeing how the Genoa story comes out and what exactly Charlie finds out after its airing that compromises its credibility.
As we near the end of season 2 and the final two episodes center around the election, we also assume there will be some mention of that as well. There have also been mutterings of more than a few characters’ jobs being in danger due to the botching of the Genoa story, and that will definitely have an effect on how ACN covers the election.
