Several posters for The Newsroom season 2 have been unveiled by HBO, and each one features a particular lead character and a quote.

“Together they stand alone” is the theme in this batch of The Newsroom season 2 posters. The group poster depicts everyone in the desert like they were in the latest Newsroom season 2 trailer. Each poster is black and white with copies of scripts flying around the lone character. News anchor Will McAvoy is the only character standing up in the eight solo posters which symbolizes his lead role.

Also interesting is the inclusion of a quote on each poster. Presumably said by the respective featured character in season 2, these quotes are Sorkin-esque and perhaps appeal to viewers who haven’t tried the show yet but are fans of The West Wing and The Social Network creator.

The Newsroom season 2 will welcome several new stars into the storyline including Patton Oswalt, Grace Gummer, and Marcia Gay Harden. Other big changes on the show? Jim is heading out on the road to follow Mitt Romney’s Presidential campaign after realizing he needs time away from the office and co-workers so that he can clear his head.

Sorkin isn’t afraid to hide the fact that this season’s theme is about uniting around one news program’s production, but all being alone in their quests for happiness. Perhaps by the end of season 2 we will see everyone united around a new common goal or mission that will collectively make them all happier people.

As the posters remind you, The Newsroom season 2 launches Sunday, July 14 at 10 p.m. eastern/pacific on HBO.
