The new trailer for Netflix’s latest original movie The Titan is taking human evolution to places that it’s never been before.
Netflix has been releasing a lot more high-quality original films lately. After the success of their release of The Cloverfield Paradox, it’s exciting to see the streaming service explore some new territory. In the latest Netflix original film The Titan starring Sam Worthington and Taylor Schilling, they seem to be doing just that.

In The Titan, humanity and life on earth are nearing its final days, and to ensure the survival of the species, colonizing Saturn’s moon, Titan, has become the first priority. However, such a huge journey and shift in one’s natural environment is a pretty big change for anyone, and Titan’s natural environment is a naturally harsh one for humans. Because of this, the military takes to putting a group of soldiers under a new, experimental regiment to help them not only be ready for the physical challenges of a new environment but to force human evolution forward.
While Sam Worthington’s character Rick initially shows promise in this extreme training program, his body begins to undergo some very startling changes. And while his abilities do travel to super-human levels, he begins to exhibit other non-human characteristics as well that threaten not on him and his family, but potentially humanity as a whole.
There have been a lot of movies that focus on the earth becoming uninhabitable and humanity’s frantic search to find another planet as its home. However, this angle of focusing on a soldier at home as he tries to push his body beyond human limitations to survive that journey make The Titan feel like a fresh take on a well-traveled topic.
The trailer has us curious about the super sketchy training program that Rick and his fellow soldiers are going through, but also what is going on with Rick that he seems to be transforming into another creature right before our eyes. Is this a story of science going too far, or are we witnessing a very covert alien invasion?
Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long for answers. The Titan hits Netflix on March 30. Get your queues ready!
