Great news, The Mysterious Benedict Society fans— season 2 is officially on the way!

On Tuesday (September 28), Disney+ announced that it has officially renewed The Mysterious Benedict Society for a season 2.

Series star Tony Hale was on hand to deliver the exciting news to fans far and wide in the form of a video announcement posted to the streamer’s socials.

Fittingly, the announcement came in the form of a riddle, which Hale himself read aloud.

“Step one: think of a number. Step two: multiply it by three. Step three: add six. Step four: divide by three. Step five: subtract the number you chose from the answer of your answer in step four, what do you get? And see the answer for an important message,” reads Hale. “Yeah, I’m gonna need a lot more time on this.

Based on the best selling book series by author Trenton Lee Stewart, the Disney+ series centers on four gifted orphans who are sent off on a secret mission after being recruited by an eccentric benefactor (Hale).

Known collectively as the “Mysterious Benedict Society,” the four children are sent to investigate the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened (L.I.V.E. for short).

Their mission? To stop the Sender of mysterious messages being transmitted to the public via television and radio that are causing worldwide panic.

The Mysterious Benedict Society season 2 will pick up with the orphans a year later. This time around, they’ll be squaring off against Benedict’s twin brother, Dr. L.D. Curtain (also played by Tony Hale) in an attempt to stop him before it’s too late.

Production on The Mysterious Benedict Society season 2 is set to kick off in 2022, though there’s currently no word on when we might expect to see the new season debut via Disney+.
