Last week, we announced that The Muppets 2 will be set in Europe and Christoph Waltz is starring as the villain! Some additional exciting news was also released over the weekend!

Collider recently talked to Muppets producer Todd Lieberman, and questioned him about the sequel. Lieberman stated that they’ll be filming at Pinewood Studio in London and that filming will take place from January to April in and around the U.K.’s capital. Bret McKenzie, who wrote The Muppets soundtrack in 2011 and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song – Man or Muppet – will return to write the soundtrack for the sequel.

Additionally, there “may be” a new Muppet introduced. Considering filming will begin in the two months, we can also expect lots of casting news soon, too.

We already know that Jason Segel isn’t involved with the film, but he may make a cameo. James Bobin is returning to direct, and Nicholas Stoller and Bobin are writing the script for the sequel.

What do you think about The Muppets 2 being set in London? Would you have liked to see The Muppets frolicking through a different country? Do you think Amy Adams will return? Who would you like to see play the lead role, now that Segel isn’t returning? Leave us your thoughts below!
