But with this new trailer for the movie, which hits cinemas on June 9, we might have to admit that it actually could end up being a thrilling, scary thing — just how Universal is hoping to sell its Monster Movie universe reboot:
There’s plenty of Sofia Boutella’s Mummy in the new trailer, along with the obligatory Tom Cruise hero shots.
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman and also stars Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance, introducing Russell Crowe’s Dr. Jekyll who will likely have his own solo movie, too.
