Mindy and Danny try to overcome a problem in bed, Mindy ends up in the hospital and Peter’s eyebrows get burned off. Check out The Mindy Project season 3, episode 4, “I Slipped,” recap!

Mindy is head over heels for Danny and she details how he is so romantic. He gives her an extra slice of apple pie, a gorgeous necklace while she’s brushing her teeth, overall, he’s great to her. However, one night in bed, Danny “accidentally” slips into Mindy in a way she wasn’t expecting. Furious at him for not warning her, he tries to pass it off as a mistake – he’s going blind!

When Colin the optometrist confirms that Danny is not going blind, he owns up to his lie and that his slippage was intentional. You tried, Danny.

This whole episode basically revolves around the sexual adventures of Mindy and Danny. Danny’s assumptions that she was more experienced might come from Mindy talking the talk more than walking the walk, so to speak, but that doesn’t make it any less insulting.

Mindy ultimately is worried that she’s boring in bed compared to all the women before Danny. She turns to Peter for advice, as she has been doing a lot as of late when it comes to relationship woes. He demonstrates some sex positions for her, playing the part of Danny, and a skeleton playing the part of Mindy. There are some awkward moves in the montage, including one entitled ‘the bagpipes.’ In the end, she resolves to just try what Danny wanted again.

Elsewhere in the office: Morgan is upset that no one in the office attended his nurse practitioners graduation. Peter and Jeremy, still feuding over Lauren, didn’t attend because they thought the other would be there.

The entire office is #TeamPeter in this regard, and Jeremy, tired of being ostracized, isolates himself in his office, playing The Sound of Silence on the banjo. Morgan takes pity on him and invites him to dinner. This dinner turns out to be a set-up to get him to talk to Peter. After throwing water in Jeremy’s face, Jeremy picks up the glass-shaped candle and throws the flame in Peter’s face.

That night, Mindy tries to seduce Danny – wearing a silky nightgown, drink his whiskey, listen to blues. Danny says that he doesn’t need all that other extra sex stuff – being with her is enough, they don’t need that ‘spark,’ being with her is like an old shoe! Swoon, so romantic.

The sedative Morgan prescribed to Mindy to relax her for the night ended up sending her on a bad drug trip. Danny rushes her to the hospital where the nurse, suspiciously eyeing Danny, informs her that she was roofied. Mindy has to reassure her that she did this to herself, and that Danny was not trying to drug her.

In the end, Jeremy and Peter call a truce, and Danny and Mindy both admit that they’re not into the crazy sexual adventures either one of them may have had in the past or could have in the future – they’re enough for each other.
