On the last episode of The Mindy Project Mindy has a hard time connecting with Peter even though he’s getting along with everyone else fine. So she decides to take him out for lunch but only succeeds in annoying him when she doesn’t take any real interest in him. To try and help, Danny invites Mindy to their guys night out which turns out to be watching Peter fight MMA.
However, Mindy ruins things when she bums Peter out by telling him his ex-girlfriend just engaged. He ends up losing the fight so badly he needs stitches. But they have a nice moment in the end when Mindy tells Peter she’s there to talk about ex’s anytime.

When Danny (Chris Messina) tells Mindy (Mindy Kaling) that she is too picky and judgmental of other people, she is on a mission to prove him wrong and goes on a date with her complete opposite, a wild and crazy skateboarder named Graham (guest star Timothy Olyphant). Meanwhile, Jeremy (Ed Weeks) receives a visit from his father (guest star Alan Dale), who seems to prefer Peter (Adam Pally) over his own son. Vanessa Bayer (“Saturday Night Live”) also guest-stars.
