Last week’s disastrous test run to see whether or not Danny and Mindy could handle being neighbors failed and we saw Mindy cozying up to Office Charlie Lang (Tim Daly), gazing up at the stars by the end. Her relationship with Danny is rocky and even though she may still have feelings for him, it’s good she is trying to move on – or is it?
This week’s The Mindy Project season 2 finale is titled “Danny and Mindy,” and given the romantic core that this show is built upon, we don’t think Charlie will be the target of Mindy’s affections by the end of the episode.
Especially given the premise of the episode: Mindy finds herself the target of a missed connections ad in the newspaper, and Andy, the person who placed the ad, wants her to email him. Danny strongly advises against it, one, because she’ll get a virus (does Danny know how the Internet works?) and two, well, he’s still crazy about her.
The show actually went to New York City to film some scenes for tonight, so we can speculate that the episode will be heavy handed with the parallels to iconic rom-com scenes. According to the promo video below, perhaps we’ll see an encounter at the top of the Empire State Building? That is – if Danny can find it. But he goes running in that direction, so if that isn’t love, we don’t know what is.
