The first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections is here, and it’s bound to get fans even more excited for the fourth installment of the franchise.

Get ready to renter The Matrix!

On Thursday (September 9), Warner Bros. officially unveiled the first full length trailer for The Matrix Resurrections, which finds Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss back in action as Neo and Trinity, respectively.

But fans itching to see a happy reunion between the two will be left sorely lacking while scratching their heads. It turns out, neither Neo or Trinity remember each other, or the past they shared.

As the trailer progresses, we follow along as Neo becomes more and more anxious as pieces of his past start infiltrating his consciousness.

“I’ve had dreams that weren’t just dreams. Am I crazy?” He asks while speaking to his therapist (Neil Patrick Harris).

“We don’t use that word in here,” the therapist replies.

From there, we’re treated to a montage of images as Neo grapples with images of his former life. But it’s not until what appears to be a younger version of Morpheus (Yahoo Abdul-Mateen II) enters the picture that things really start falling into place.

Behind the camera, Lana Wachowski is back on board to serve as both writer and director on the highly anticipated movie. Wachowski previously took on both roles alongside her sister, Lillly, for the original trilogy of movies.

Other returning cast members set to star opposite Reeves and Moss include Daniel Bernhardt and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

The Matrix Resurrections debuts in theaters and on HBO Max just in time for Christmas on December 22.
