Years and Years British actor Maxim Baldry has been cast in an unknown lead role in Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings TV series.

Though the actor was first rumored to be part of The Lord of the Rings show earlier this year, at the time the major cast announcement was made he had not yet signed a deal, which is why he was left out of the January reveal that announced the 15 other actors who are part of the show.

At the time, Amazon Co-head of TV Vernon Sanders said that the show still had a few key roles to cast. According to a new report by Deadline, Baldry will be playing one of those key roles in The Lord of the Rings series.

Baldry joins previously announced actors Robert Aramayo (Antebellum), Owain Arthur (Babylon), Nazanin Boniadi (Bombshell), Tom Budge (Gallipoli), Morfydd Clark (Dracula), Ismael Cruz Córdovan (Mary Queen of Scots), Ema Horvath (Vicious), Markella Kavenagh (Furlough), Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones), Tyroe Muhafidin (Two Sands), Sophia Nomvete (Vice Versa), Megan Richards (Wanderlust), Dylan Smith (The Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Charlie Vickers (Medici: Masters of Florence), and Daniel Weyman (The Happy Prince).

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series will bring Tolkien fans back to Middle-earth, and explore storylines that precede The Fellowship of the Ring. The series is led by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who serve as showrunners and executive producers. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona is set to helm the show’s first two episodes, and will likewise serve as executive producer alongside his partner Belén Atienza; Lindsey Weber, Bruce Richmond, Gene Kelly, Sharon Tal Yguado, Gennifer Hutchison, Jason Cahill and Justin Doble also executive produce.

Amazon has already shown great confidence in the series, renewing The Lord of the Rings for a second season ahead of Season 1 production start in New Zealand.

No word yet on when the series will debut.
