Lizzie Bennet is back and vlogging in new bonus videos aimed at eager viewers.
It’s been just over a year since The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, the groundbreaking webseries based on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, came to its moving conclusion. Today, Lizzie Bennet herself returns with a new series of video blogs updating viewers on new developments in her life.
The new video is framed as an update for current students in Dr. Gardiner’s New Media seminar, who study Lizzie’s work in class and are desperate for updates on the ginger media maven… and other significant people in her life.
In the new video – tantalizingly tagged as “Bonus 1” – a visibly-flattered Lizzie re-introduces herself to Dr. Gardiner’s students. Though she confesses that she is rusty after her hiatus from vlogging, she provides updates to the students on Jane and Bing, Lydia, and Charlotte.

But though Lizzie is ostensibly filming the video to answer questions about social media, she is surprised to find that most of the questions pertain to her relationship with Darcy. (We, on the other hand, are not the least bit surprised!) Lizzie is positive about, but vague on the details of her relationship. Only when Darcy himself enters (and fanpeople around the internet squeal with glee) does she agree to consult him on what to share in her new vlog series.
Though the Lizzie Bennet Diaries universe has not been static lately – a novelization titled The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet will be released on June 24 – it is thrilling to see Ashley Clements and Daniel Vincent Gordh resume their roles in the great modern love story. We can’t help but hope for appearances by other beloved players in the Pemberly Digital universe!
