The Legend of Korra series finale will be available for streaming at midnight on Friday — and a sneak peek tells us what to expect.

The end comes too early — and not soon enough! As with all of season 4, the final episodes of The Legend of Korra will begin streaming this Friday on Nick.com — but “Day of the Colossus” and “The Last Stand” will arrive several hours earlier than usual.

The Legend of Korra series finale will hit the web at 12:00 a.m. EST. This means that fans who are so inclined can stay up until Friday dawns on the East Coast and watch the final two episodes (likely of any Avatar-verse animation ever) in a mild state of sleep-deprivation.

Make your objections known now folks, because we sure as Koh can’t think of any.

A recent sneak peek from the penultimate episode, “Day of the Colossus,” picks up where last week’s crazy cliffhanger left off — in the ruins of Asami’s factory, decimated by Kuvira’s spirit cannon.

In the clip, Bolin earthbends to allow the group to escape from the rubble. Conveniently, the only person who was injured in Kuvira’s attack is Bataar Jr., who has to be carried out by Bumi and Suyin.

Seriously, nobody else even has a scratch.

Anyway, Tenzin zooms off and finds that Kuvira is marching down the bridge in the Colossus, alongside her army of normal-scary mechatanks. Mako is afraid that Kuvira will blast Wu to pieces if she learns he’s still in the city, and Korra vows not to allow Republic City to fall like Zaofu.

Lin shows up to help, and Asami suggests that they may have a chance in the prototype Hummingbird-mechas in her office. The group splits up to take on Kuvira by themselves, while Asami and Varrick will head for their last hope.

In spite of the (frankly inexplicable) lack of injuries among Team Avatar, it’s clear that the stakes are exceptionally high The Legend of Korra series finale. The level of destruction which Kuvira is capable of wreaking is unprecedented, and the dire straits are only hammered home when Korra and her friends decide to take on the Colossus and the army alone.

So far, only one of our four final theories for The Legend of Korra has come to pass — Republic City did turn out to be Kuvira’s endgame.

But is there room in “Day of the Colossus” and “The Last Stand” for our other ideas to come to fruition? Will there be space for shipping — for Korra and Asami to continue deepening their bond? Is there time for the creepily-awesome spirit Koh to make his return?

And will someone who isn’t a villain actually die?

It seems impossible to say at this point, but we can’t wait to stay up late on Thursday to find out.

The Legend of Korra series finale, “Day of the Colossus” and “The Last Stand,” will begin streaming on Friday, Dec. 19 on Nick.com.
