Suyin BeiFong will take a truly desperate step to preserve the freedom of her city when The Legend of Korra season 4, episode 6 begins streaming today. The episode, ominously titled “Battle of Zaofu,” will focus on the beginning of open hostilities between Kuvira’s army and the metalbending city she used to call home.
A recent sneak peek from “Battle of Zaofu” hints quite strongly at why the battle of words between Kuvira and Suyin becomes a battle of mecha-tanks, airships, and probable disaster.
To put it briefly, Suyin is taking her twin sons to assassinate Kuvira.
So that’s intense.
Though Suyin’s determination to remove the threat to Zaofu is certainly admirable (though borderline desperate) it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which her assassination attempt succeeds. Either way, we doubt that the fallout will be as friendly to Zaofu – and its leader – as Suyin believes.
At the same time, we are left to wonder what Korra will do if disaster truly strikes. Will she follow her new policy of peaceful negotiation, or will the Avatar be forced to take violent action to preserve the people who depend on her?
