As Book 2 of The Legend of Korra comes to a close, the show’s creators have announced the title for The Legend of Korra season 3. Season 2 spoilers follow.

The title of The Legend of Korra season 3 has been revealed by the show’s co-creators in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “The title of Book 3 is going to be called “Change,” said Mike DiMartino, confirming that while the show is moving away from the challenges of physical elements, The Legend of Korra will remain focused on constant elements of human experience.

As to what the story of The Legend of Korra season 3 will involve, DiMartino said, “It’s all about Korra dealing with the change of the world in this point in time. At the end of Book 2 she says it’s a new era.” These words will prove to be more than just grand hyperbole, though; “It really is [a new era],” DiMartino said. “We’re going to show how Harmonic Convergence and her battle with… Vaatu kind of shifted the world a bit.”

This new information arrives at an interesting time in the Legend of Korra fandom. While the final episodes of Book 2 – titled “Spirits” – will air this Friday night at 8:00 p.m. on Nickelodeon, the finale was released online on Saturday morning. Though season 2 has received mixed reviews from fans and critics, fans who have seen “Darkness Falls” and “Light in the Dark” are already hungry for more information on The Legend of Korra season 3.

The official summaries for the two-part finale episode says:

Korra discovers a new twist in Unalaq’s evil plan; Tenzin realizes that he must face his own demons; Korra discovers a way that she may be able to defeat the ultimate dark spirit and save the world.
