Avatar Korra may face her toughest challenge yet when The Legend of Korra season 3, episode 10 streams today on Nick.com. The episode, titled “Long Live the Queen,” promises feature round two of Korra’s simmering standoff with the Earth Queen – but can Korra wriggle out of those taloned clutches a second time?
On the previous episode of The Legend of Korra, titled “The Stakeout,” Korra, Asami, Mako, and Bolin chased the traitorous Aiwei to the Misty Palms Oasis. Korra figured out how to follow the impressively unobservant Truth Seer into the Spirit World for his rendezvous with Zaheer, and confronted her pursuer. (Also, Aiwei got chucked into the Mist of Lost Souls.)
Zaheer distracted Korra with honesty, confessing that he is a member of the secret Red Lotus Society – a breakaway from the failures of the modern White Lotus. Zaheer’s goal is societal chaos, which he believes is the key to true freedom.
Gazan and Ming Hua battled and captured Bolin and Mako. Asami and Korra were also kidnapped – by the forces of the Earth Queen. As the episode ends, everyone is on their way back to Ba Sing Se… but Zaheer is the only one who’s happy about it.
A sneak peek from “Long Live the Queen” illustrates that it literally doesn’t matter what’s going on: Asami Sato can handle it.
We will never be as cool as Asami Sato, and we’re okay with that.
