Nickelodeon held their 2013 upfront today in New York City, but unfortunately, news on The Legend of Korra season 2 was very scant indeed.

Nickelodeon catered to their “post-millennial” viewership at the network’s upfront announcements in New York City today. Though many fans expected news on their popular animated series The Legend of Korra (there have been no official updates since the show’s panel at San Diego Comic Con last July), the only news came from the event’s press release. (Scroll down to the 14th paragraph.)

For the 2013-14 season, the network will also roll out new episodes of returning hit animated series, including season two of The Legend of Korra.

Well, at least Nickelodeon knows the show still exists. Though in all honesty, we are not beyond pulling a Dragon of the West if we discover that The Legend of Korra season 2 will not air until 2014. (Though that is pure speculation on our part.)

Nickelodeon’s official Twitter account did respond to one fan’s request for information on The Legend of Korra season 2.

Hold us, Tenzin. Hold us close.

In other Nickelodeon news, the network ordered several new animated series including Breadwinners, Sanjay & Craig, Rabbids, and a film-inspired Monsters vs. Aliens series. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was renewed for its third season, and Dora the Explorer will graduate to Dora and Friends, in which a 10-year-old Dora “goes on adventures in the big city with a group of new friends.”
