The first close-to-complete image from The Legend of Korra season 2 has been revealed by the show’s creators. Check it out here!
Though news on season 2 of Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra has been painfully scarce for months now, a break in the clouds may be coming. Co-creator Bryan Konietzko has posted a photo from a season 2 color-correction session on his Tumblr, giving fans a (very) long-awaited glimpse of what Korra will be up to when the show returns. Konietzko posted the photo to mark the one-year anniversary of his blog. Beneath the picture, he gave a wry shout-out to the not-so-patient fans waiting for The Legend of Korra season 2. “A year later… you’re all still mad the show is not out yet… and Korra is still a badass. Thanks for caring enough to be mad and for following this blog!”
Konietzko also added that fan frustration at the creators “is akin to being mad at a tree for not growing apples fast enough.” A fair comparison certainly, though it would still be nice to have an ETA on the sweet and juicy produce! (But we love you too, Bryan.) Still, hopefully the color-correction work means that production of season 2 is nearing a highly-anticipated completion.
There isn’t much information to glean from this image for The Legend of Korra season 2, but we have to agree with Konietzko that Korra does look epically badass – and kind of pissed. Co-creator Mike DiMartino, reblogging the image on his Tumblr, joked “It’s an image from book 2! Of Korra! And is that a fence behind her? What can it all mean?” To indulge that question seriously, we do note that snow is falling, so it’s possible the scene may take place in the Southern Water Tribe. At the same time, though the fence behind Korra is reminiscent of the more modern design of Republic City; but where does that red pyramid-esque structure behind her fit in?
More tangible information about The Legend of Korra season 2 may be revealed at the Nickelodeon Upfront panel on Feb. 26. Until then, The Legend of Korra will return at some time in the unspecified future.
