Korra is at her most vulnerable in a new clip from this week’s hour-long episode of The Legend of Korra season 2.
The Legend of Korra season 2 hits its halfway point this Friday night, with two highly anticipated back-to-back episodes. The episodes, collectively titled “Beginnings,” will tell the story of the very first Avatar, a young man named Wan.
A new sneak peek from the first part of “Beginnings” gives us a hint at how a battered Korra may come into contact with Wan’s spirit. Check out the clip right here:
In the clip, Korra – who has lost her memory after being swallowed by a spirit creature – is cared for by the Fire Sages. An elderly woman examines Korra, and says that a dark energy has infected her, and is now threatening the Avatar spirit. Korra is lowered into a pool of healing waters to be “cleansed.” During her examination, she frequently asks for someone named Rava.
Judging by another clip released from this episode of The Legend of Korra season 2, Korra does somehow contact her past lives through this process, continuing to look for the mysterious Rava. In this way, Korra will connect with Avatar Wan and learn how the Avatar cycle began.
Part one of “Beginnings” aired at New York Comic-Con this past weekend, and intrepid fans can check out our recap of the episode from that event. Fans hoping to stay spoiler-free for The Legend of Korra season 2 can take a look at our summary of the panel during which the episode was shown.
The Legend of Korra will air at an earlier time this week to accommodate the two-part episode. “Beginnings” will air on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
