Original (August 5): Old faces, new life. The first batch of photos from The Leftovers season 2 are here and it looks like the Garvey and Jamison families are settling into their new lives in Jarden, Texas. What’s so special about this place? The city has zero departures. But don’t let that provide too much comfort. Damon Lindelof nearly confirmed during The Leftovers TCA presentation that another event is going to effect Jarden in good time.

Regina King plays Erika Murphy, the local doctor in charge of the urgent care facility in town.
Her husband, John Murphy, played by Kevin Carroll, is the head of the town’s volunteer fire department.

Michael Murphy, played by Jovan Adepo, is around the same age as Jill Garvey and is active in his church. Jill appears to be playing with the baby of the deceased Holy Wayne. Her brother Tommy left the baby on the Garvey’s doorstep before running into his mother, Laurie. They are joined by Jasmin Savoy Brown who plays Evie Murphy.
It seems that Kevin Garvey continues to have a hard time remaining bandage free in Texas.
No time will be split between New York and Texas as Reverend Matt Jamison and his wife Mary made the trip down to Texas alongside his sister Nora. The Reverend has found a new church, this time with a congregation.
No word on where the devoted new initiate to the Guilty Remnant Meg Abbott ends up, but her all-white clothing suggests she hasn’t severed all ties with the cult.
Laurie, on the other hand, seems to have had no problem leaving the GR behind. She and Tommy Garvey met one another after the fire that destroyed the Guilty Remnant’s headquarters at the close of season 1.
There are still no images of Patti Levin, but Ann Dowd was just confirmed to have been given a series regular billing for season 2.
