Everyone needs a friend in Miracle. Tonight’s The Leftovers season 2, episode 6, “Lens,” will see if Nora and Erika can trust each other enough to become friends.

Unlikely events are the new normal in The Leftovers season 2. Missing girls, drained lakes, slaughtered goats at breakfast, all in a day for the residents of the “spared town.” But now that recent events have set people further and further on edge, they need a confidant more than ever to get through the daily grind. To find someone else to help carry the burdens of years of secrets is just what Erika finds in The Leftovers season 2, episode 6.

John and Erika, thus far, have their marriage figured out. Erika is a peacekeeper, a body guard, and the one who supports John no matter how outrageous his actions may be. However, things are getting rocky in the Murphy household now that Evie’s disappearance puts some of John’s quirks into perspective.

Matt Jamison was the reason Nora came to Jarden, Texas. The wonders of the town he promised her are fading quickly and now even Matt is questioning if the cost of the miracle is worth it at all. Matt leaves a pregnant Mary with Nora as he heads back into the encampment on a journey of self-discovery.

This leaves Nora battling Kevin’s breakdown, raising a daughter, and looking after Mary alone. Next door, Erika fights to keep John from beating the town to death and worrying about what happened to Evie. These two have more in common than they know.
