A red band trailer for The Interview has just been released, and it shows exactly the kind of hilarity that James Franco and Seth Rogen will be getting up to.

Seth Rogen is back for his second directorial feature with writing partner Evan Goldberg with The Interview. After the success of This is the End, we can’t wait to see what they have in store this time.

For The Interview, Rogen is once again starring alongside James Franco who will star as a reporter who lands an interview with Kim Jong-Un (Randall Park). When the U.S. government finds this out, Franco’s reporter character and his producer played by Rogen are tasked with assassinating Jong-Un, something that, obviously, won’t go smoothly.

As we can see in the above trailer, Rogen and Franco’s characters get told that they must kill Jong-Un by a CIA agent played by Lizzy Caplan, who looks to be perfectly commanding and funny in the role.

Overall, the humor in the trailer looks quite hilarious, though we hope it isn’t completely filled with jokes of the dick, sex, and poop variety. We have faith that it will be filled with more quality humor based on Rogen and Goldberg’s names alone.

The big question here is how much of Rogen, Goldberg and co-writer Dan Sterling’s vision will remain untainted. After the initial trailer was released, a North Korean foreign ministry spokesman called the film “a most wanton act of terror and act of war, and absolutely intolerable.”

Later it was revealed that thousands of buttons worn by North Korean officials would be digitally altered and that a late third act plot point may be altered (click the link to see potentially spoiler-filled details).

We hope Rogen and Goldberg’s vision stays primarily intact, but we certainly don’t want the movie to start World War III.
