The Interview will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray less than two months after it hit theaters, marking another unusual step in the film’s life.

After being pulled from major theaters but hitting small theaters and on demand systems including YouTube on Christmas Eve, Sony has now announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s The Interview will hit DVD and Blu-ray on February 17.

The home entertainment release has a slew of special features which sound like they’ll be worth checking out if you enjoyed the theatrical version as much as we did. For example, The Interview Blu-ray – which is being dubbed the “Freedom Edition” – will include 14 deleted scenes, a 7-minute blooper reel, and several alternate takes with different jokes.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray will include an audio commentary with Rogen and Goldberg.

The full break down is as follows.

DVD and Blu-ray Bonus Features:

– “Naked and Afraid” – Discovery Channel TV special featuring Seth Rogen and James Franco
– Feature Audio Commentary with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg
– “Freedom Edition”

Blu-ray Exclusive Bonus Features Also Include:

– Gag Reel
– Deleted, Extended and Alternate Scenes
– Featurettes:
– “Directors of This Movie” – Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg comment on directing the film together
– “Puppy Power” – Cast and Crew profess their love for the King Charles Spaniel puppy
– “Here Kitty Kitty” – Seth Rogen breaks down the experience of working with a real tiger
– “Joking Around” – The producers discuss the process of creating jokes on set
– “Spies Among Us” – Hear from each of the cast members about their experience on the film
– “Randall Park Audition Tape” – Randall Park table read audition video
– “Dating a Dictator” – An authoritative touch on a convincing dating profile video
– “Getting Into Character” – A look at Randall Park’s transformation into looking the part of a dictator

Since The Interview is already available for streaming online, it’s no surprise that Sony is trying to get physical copies of the film into the hands of consumers as soon as possible.

Will you pick up ‘The Interview’ Blu-ray?

Or was watching it online once enough?

Sony announced earlier this month that the film has made $31 million in online sales – so far.
