The first trailer and several posters for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, starring Steve Carell and Jim Carrey as rival magicians, have landed online.

Also starring Steve Buscemi, Alan Arkin and Olivia Wilde, the film follows famous but jaded Las Vegas magician named Burt Wonderstone (Carell), who fights for relevance when a new, hip street magician (Carrey) appears on the scene following Wonderstone’s breakup with his longtime stage partner (Buscemi).

This just seems like wacky fun, and it will (hopefully) be hilarious to see Carell and Carrey playing off each other in over-the-top fashion. Plus having Buscemi, Arkin and Wilde backing things up isn’t bad either. We’ll just have to wait and see, as Warner Bros. has set a March 15, 2013 release for the film.

Directed by Emmy-winning TV director Don Scardino (30 Rock), the screenplay was penned by John Francis Daley (yes, of Bones and Freaks and Geeks fame) and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Horrible Bosses). There’s clearly talent involved, but it’ll be interesting to see how that translates into a film that screams silly. Then again, silly isn’t necessarily all that bad, either.
