The Hunger Games: Catching Fire star Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale, has joined the social networking service Twitter.
Hemsworth launched his time on Twitter with a verified account. His first tweet was as follows:

Later in the day he told his 40,000 followers (so far!) about his new movie Paranoia:

While we’re sure he joined Twitter for more important reasons, the timing of his start is interesting. Just yesterday, troubled celebrity Amanda Bynes took to her Twitter account to profess her love for Hemsworth:

Maybe it was Bynes’ tweet that made Hemsworth pay attention to Twitter? Most likely not, but it’s fun to speculate. Hemsworth’s girlfriend, Miley Cyrus, is a big fan of the social networking service herself and has already amassed 12 million followers. We’re sure it’s only a matter of time until Hemsworth develops a similar following.
