Here’s some good news as we go into the weekend: The first big trailer for Mockingjay, Part 2 will be released online next week!

Update: Good news! Lionsgate has confirmed that the first full-length trailer for Mockingjay, Part 2 will actually be arriving on Thursday, not Friday as they previously hinted.

Lionsgate announced on the film’s official Twitter account this morning that a new trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 will drop Friday, July 24.

To celebrate today’s news, the studio released this short but sweet teaser video which includes a couple clips from the trailer:

We presume this Mockingjay, Part 2 trailer will be the one that debuted last week at San Diego Comic-Con. Director Francis Lawrence had said that the trailer we saw would be released online a few weeks after debuting in Hall H.

If it is the Comic-Con trailer, fans need to brace themselves for a lot of excitement. The full-length Mockingjay, Part 2 trailer is heavy on action sequences as Katniss rallies the people of Panem to go to battle with President Snow. Commander Paylor has a big presence in this new trailer because she explains how they plan to attack the Capitol. Speaking of the Capitol, Snow too has a few scenes in the 2 1/2 minute preview.

In short, this trailer will make you happy the Mockingjay book was split into two films. This is one trailer you will not want to miss.

Mockingjay, Part 2 opens in theaters this November. While we wait, check out this new propos video released at SDCC featuring Katniss, District 13 rebels, and a sort of dance-march.
