The Hunger Games: Mockingjay casting announcements continue today with actor Evan Ross who will play Messalla.

The character Messalla is a part of Cressida’s television crew who goes around with Katniss on her mission into the Capitol. He is described as a physically fit young man with several sets of earrings. Messalla becomes particularly useful when he leads them to find food thanks to his knowledge of a home with a similar floor plan to his.

Evan Ross is the third new actor joining The Hunger Games film series for Mockingjay. On Friday we learned that Natalie Dormer will play Cressida and yesterday Lionsgate announced Stef Dawson will play Finnick’s wife.

Ross has had roles in numerous smaller movies including the 2011 film Jeff, Who Lives at Home starring Jason Segel, Ed Helms, and Judy Greer.

Production on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 will begin next month, according to the most recent reports. The films will open in theaters November 2014 and November 2015 respectively.

Meanwhile, Catching Fire hits theaters this November and is the highly-anticipated sequel to March 2012’s runaway hit The Hunger Games.

We hope that Lionsgate continues to make various Mockingjay casting announcements so our cast list can continue to fill up! Perhaps one of the biggest questions that still remains is: Who will play President Coin?
