The Hunger Games has released a new portrait poster, giving us a look at Haymitch Abernathy in Catching Fire!
Ahead of the launch of this poster, a hint was given to fans: “Sip in Style.” The hint made it pretty clear we could expect to see the infamous drunk mentor from District 12 played by Woody Harrelson. In the novel Catching Fire, Haymitch’s drinking problem has gotten much worse after the stress of 74th Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta even take to hoarding bottles of alcohol to make sure that he doesn’t run out. When Katniss is threatened by President Snow, she even joins Haymitch in drinking one night.

Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence already revealed that we can expect to see Haymitch struggling post-traumatic stress disorder. The director explained, “One of the things I really like about this book is you start to see kind of why Haymitch is the way he is, why people are the way they are, so he and I did a fair amount of work in terms of that, in terms of understanding PTSD and how to work with somebody with post-traumatic stress. Also we started messing around a lot with some real humanity in Haymitch because he can be quite cynical and sarcastic at times. But I think there’s a more human side to him in this one as well.”
Now that Haymitch has been released, Cinna is the only one left out of Katniss and Peeta’s team to be revealed.
A new portrait is set to be released at 6 p.m. EST at People.com. The hint for the next portrait is: “Your fashion hero.”
Yesterday, Lionsgate released the first look at Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci). Effie appears to have made a step up on the Capitol’s social and fashion ladder while Caesar premiered his new hair color for the Third Quarter Quell.
