Warner Bros. have released the final Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies trailer, with a voiceover from Bilbo Baggins which should give you chills.

An elderly Bilbo Baggins starts this trailer off with a voiceover that should cause fans of these two trilogies to have shivers down their spine. Watch as the final Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies trailer shows new footage of the exciting finale:

While we’ve seen a lot of this footage before, the way they have tied everything together is just brilliant. With promotion being kicked into high gear as the film hits theaters next week, it’s chilling to see our Bilbo and the rest of our heroes heading for the final battle.

Early reviews of The Hobbit finale have been somewhat split, but seem to be leaning more towards positive than overly negative. We’re excited about the finale due to the fact that Peter Jackson has an excellent eye for large scale battles.

He and and his team have done an excellent job keeping fans involved in the process during this past year, and it’s definitely going to be bittersweet now that Jackson has said there most likely won’t be another Middle Earth related film. This is reportedly due to the Tolkien estate owning the film rights to the rest of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.

Peter Jackson has stated that while the film’s battle will be fairly long, at just over 45 minutes, fans shouldn’t expect to feel too much battle fatigue. The film’s entire runtime has now been revealed to be 144-minutes long. He also stated that the final film will have 30 minutes added during its extended edition release.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be released in theaters worldwide on December 17, 2014.
