A first look at Hugo Weaving’s return as Elrond in The Hobbit has been released.
The image, which also features Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Martin Freeman as Bilbo, and Richard Armitrage as Thorin Oakenshield, is the first look we’ve had of Elrond in film. Take a look below!

Weaving is just the first of many returning cast from the original trilogy, with the likes of Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom and Christopher Lee, and of course, McKellen returning at various points in the trilogy.
