The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey extended edition release date has been released for those very few who thought the original cut wasn’t quite long enough.

Warner Bros. is releasing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey DVD/Blu-Ray extended edition on November 5. The digital download will be available a bit earlier on October 22. While there will only be 13 extra minutes added to the final cut, what’s more interesting is the bonus features.

Any Peter Jackson fan will tell you one thing, the man likes to do behind-the-scenes bonus features.

Anyone with a Lord of The Rings extended set knows that the behind-the-scenes footage is some of the most well cut, well done footage of any film/director.

According to the press release from Warner Bros., there will be nine hours of bonus features in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’s extended edition.

If that holds true for all three films in the trilogy, we’ll be looking at 27 hours of behind-the-scenes bonus footage for the set – which may even be more than his original trilogy.

This may not be the case, as we imagine since The Hobbit was originallly set to be two films, they probably have a lot more behind-the-scenes footage from pre-production, and from filming the first and second film, than they would the third.

Peter Jackson has been releasing images lately of the final days of shooting for the film’s pickups, so be sure to check them out.

Yahoo! has also released an exclusive deleted scene from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and we’ve included it below:
