Warner Bros. released six new clips of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey earlier today and now they’ve just released 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage of the film showing some amazing footage.

Earlier today we saw six brand new clips from the much anticipated first Hobbit film directed by Sir Peter Jackson and now we have 20 minutes of behind-the-scene footage which Collider received exclusively from Warner Bros. The video goes behind the making of The Hobbit films and shows just how much work has gone into making the trilogy. Check out the video below, but be warned, there may be minor spoilers.

Early reviews are in for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and so far they’ve been a bit mixed. Most reviewers are enjoying the film, but those that saw the film in the new 48 fps (frames per second) format are again saying it does result in an odd look.

Jackson decided to shoot the film in 48 fps compared to the industry standard 24 fps, and this has caused a decent amount of controversy over the last few months as footage has been seen in the new format. Hitfix comments on the final result, saying, “Throughout the entire film, there was a strange Benny Hill quality to sequences, with things that appeared to be sped up. It happened in both dialogue and action sequences, and the overall effect was like watching the most beautifully mastered Blu-ray ever played at 1.5x speed.”

Fans shouldn’t worry, as the film will be available in 24 fps, which we’re all used to and the majority of theaters won’t even have the ability to show the film in 48 fps.
