Curious to know when The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 is set to hit Hulu? The good news is, the streaming platform has finally shed some light on the matter!

On Tuesday (November 14) afternoon, Hulu officially announced its programming slate for the 2018 mid-season and a release date for The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 is among the series listed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Emmy Award-winning series is set to make its grand return in April of 2018, and the new season will consist of 13 episodes.

When the Margaret Atwood adaptation returns, viewers will see how Offred (Elizabeth Moss) deals with her pregnancy. As the series progresses, we’ll see her go to great lengths to try to free the child she’s carrying from the horrendous life she’s been doomed to within the confines of Gilead.

In a separate interview with EW earlier this summer, Moss teased that she’s already taken a look at the outline for the first episode of season two “and it’s f—ing ridiculous.”

“I can say this: There is literally no way that anyone can guess what happens. You can try but you won’t do it. It’s incredible,” Moss told EW. “We’re looking to blow people away, and we have every intention to break [the story] open and go even further in all directions. We have no intention of doing anything else than being even more balls to the wall than we were in season 1.”

Other series set to return next year on Hulu include: The Path season 3 on Wednesday, January 17, the limited series Looming Tower on Wednesday, February 28, and new series Hard Sun on Wednesday, March 7.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 premieres April 2018.
