In honor of yesterday’s 15th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone being published, UK newspaper The Guardian has released a scan of their report seen in their publication.

It includes a very early interview with author J.K. Rowling, who speaks about the feeling of being accepted by Bloomsbury. “I remember getting a letter back,” she said, “I assumed it was a rejection note, but inside the envelope was a letter saying, “Thank you. We would be pleased to receive the balance of your manuscript on an exclusive basis.’ It was the best letter of my life. I read it eight times.”

You can click the scan below to see it in full. It looks to include a picture of Rowling, but unfortunately the scan didn’t transfer well.

Bloomsbury is holding a contest to search for the biggest Harry Potter fan in the United Kingdom. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to the Wizarding World.

Thanks to The Guardian.
